5 Reasons Personalized Stationery is a Must Have for your Business/Life.

Stationery is used by many businesses in order to communicate with their customers. Why not tailor it to work to your advantage? Just like you pick out that perfect coffee mug that somehow conveys all you feel for life, stationery can make people connect to your business. It doesn’t matter if you are just starting out, you should have your own personalized stationery and I will tell you why. Although I’m focusing on a business standpoint, the following can apply to personal use as well.

1. Brand Yourself

The name is set and permanent, your logo is the focus of how the artwork pulls everything together. Communicating through personalized stationery is a way of advertising your company. You get to set the stage and control how you want to be viewed. When people hear your name, you want them to think of the image that you laid out for them. It doesn’t have to be boring, show some personality and character. Show people that you can be easy going and fun.

2. Like a Boss

Let people know that you’re a VIP. You take your business seriously and having your name on a piece of paper verifies that your are important. Personalized stationery lets you convey the importance of your brand without having to say it out loud.

3. Get Noticed

Personalized stationery acts like an accessory to your business communications. It shows that you take pride in your business and that you are willing to go beyond a simple sheet of paper. Your setting your business up for the big leagues when you communicate with style and elegance. You put your business in a position of being noticed, and that is a game changer especially when you are just starting out.

4. Royal Treatment

Let people know that you appreciate their business enough to give them a top notch experience. Customer satisfaction also depends heavily on the service that is received, and visually pleasing experiences add to better reviews. Personalized stationery is the extra effort you make to maintain high quality service for your customers.

5. Stay in the Game

When you offer such a visually pleasing service, people will want to continue to do business with you. You will have a better chance to keep people coming back and maybe even recommending you to others. Personalized stationery is an inexpensive but necessary investment to make. Give your notepad an upgrade and show your customers that you are able to function like the best of them.

How to Start a Blog for Your Business.

Part of starting a business means you will have to work very hard to promote your products. Since starting Jazelle86-Paper Designs last year, I’ve learned that having a blog is a great way to mold the position of your product and that products value. Here, I will share some tips I’ve found along the way to help you get started quick.

pexels-photo-612252.jpeg

1. Prepare/Light Research

Do your homework on the following:

Blog Hosting Websites. I use WordPress.com. Its simple to use and there are always options to upgrade from the free version if needed.

Blog Posting Planner. This tool is important for me because it helps to plan ahead and organize your thoughts and purpose for each post. I use my own sheet which is also available on my Etsy shop as a Digital Download for only $1.99. Click here to check it out:  Blog Post Planner on Etsy
Blog Planner 1 PIC

If you use my Planner, you simply organize your thoughts and then follow the “workflow” bullets.

3.What are you selling?

Every Business sells something, whether it’s a service, product, or idea. Therefore, you need to decide what purpose you are aiming for with each post. For example, I’ve added my product on this post (Blog Post Planner on Etsy ). The purpose of this post is to inform people on how to quickly start blogging for your business. MY purpose, is to promote my product along with this post.

The post and the product go together well. I am offering information along with a tool you can purchase from my shop. See how that works!

4.Visuals.

Your blog must be nice to look at. It’s the first thing people will see and the determining factor on whether or not people will stay and read your content. WordPress.com has a library of free images you can use. It helps tremendously because taking your own photos of professional quality can be a daunting task.

5. Link to Social Media.

This is important because you will need to stay connected with all of your platforms. I use Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest the most. This is where I share all of my content. It makes it easy for customers to find you!

pexels-photo-267350.jpeg

Once you have all of your accounts in order and you’ve signed up on a blog hosting website, you can start immediately. The best part is, you can post a blog directly from your phone. Posting from your phone is convenient if most of your pictures are already on there. Make sure to spell check, review your post, publish and share!!!

I hope this helps you to get started right away. It’s really very easy. The hard part is staying consistent. I recommend you start with 1-2 post per month and then try weekly posts. This includes planning ahead though, make sure you post with a purpose for your business! 🙂

Benefits of my Etsy Shop: Jazelle86

I’ve had a great start to selling on Etsy (In my Opinion). Making sales has been the easiest on Etsy due to the no hassle transactions. Here are some of the benefits I’ve experienced by selling on Etsy.

pexels-photo-744662.jpeg

Prepaid Orders

When a customer wants my product, they simply order it, pay, and wait for it to arrive. I prefer to have the security of having a product paid for before I start making it, so Etsy is definitely my preferred sales platform. There’s nothing worse than to have a customer place an order and then cancel.

pexels-photo-395132.jpeg

Easy Shipping/Delivery

I work hard to make sure all orders go out in a timely manner. Most of my items ship within 1-3 days. Since the customer already paid for the shipping costs, it’s really easy for me to print the label at home and either hand deliver it to my mail person, or take it to the post office down the street. Scheduling meeting places/times is very inconvenient for both myself and my client. I’ve also had the misfortune of having a customer reschedule about 3 times and then not showing up….ever!!

Custom Order Request

Many of the listings on my Etsy shop started out as someone else’s item. For example, a friend ordered a Moana Birthday Theme  banner and it came out great, so I added the item to my Etsy shop in case someone else would like to purchase it. So far, I’ve sold about 6 more.

But what happens if the client wants to add a cake topper or photo props?

Etsy has a feature where the client can click on “request custom listing” button and you then start a conversation about what the client would like which may not have been listed on the shop. You can then create a custom listing for the client and they will receive the link and proceed to an easy checkout.

This feature has made it easy to create a quick custom listing for client’s who are either adding or changing details on already listed content.

pexels-photo-346744.jpeg

Reviews

Many customers check reviews before purchasing from your shop. It’s important that you ask for this feedback as well. When I ship out orders, I add a shipping label and I write a personal note as well as a request for the client to add a review. Not all customers will take the time to review your shop but some do and that’s what counts.

Going all out!

This past weekend I was thrilled to get a big order for babyshower decorations. This order included a floral backdrop, photo frame and photo props.

This babyshower had a garden/tea party theme which included light pinks and beige with some gold. Initially we were going to go with a curtain backdrop to go with the flowers.

Luckily, I had access to a roll of artificial grass and I wanted to go for the grass backdrop. It’s really easy to have all the visions and ideas 💡 but once you start putting it all together, it’s a lot of work.

I purchased two 4’x8′ foam boards from The Home Depot (I ended up just using 1). I also purchased heavy duty adhesive to glue the artificial grass onto the foam board. Please be aware that most of these adhesives recommend a 24hr period to “cure”. Luckily I started early and I placed my foam board, with the adhesive and artificial grass, in the sun which cut down the time it took to “cure”.

I used a frame made of PVC pipes and zip ties to hold the foam board. Also, I added bricks to the back legs of the frame for extra support. The curtains helped hide the piping and the edges of the foam board.

After that, it was pretty easy to attach the paper flowers. I just used floral pins and it held together really well.

I used some of the same colors for the photo props and the floral photo frame. They complimented the theme pretty well.

I’m not surprised at all that I challenged myself to do this type of backdrop. However, I’m definitely not going to start building a backdrop the day before. Lol. I literally worked all day from morning to night on this thing. Thank God it came together as well as it did. 🙌🏼🙂

Managing my Workload….

These past two weeks have been amazing. I have officially experienced my first order overload. I have to be totally honest here, I freaked!! Lol. I literally lost track of my days, I thought my biggest order was due but turns out I still had a week to prepare. I think I had my first mini panic attack, no Lie!!

It’s not easy managing every aspect of your business. I had to find the time to catch up on my paperwork. I still need to organize receipts. I’m blessed to be this busy right now 😊🙏🏼🙌🏼

For me, it was a bit scary to start a business. I had many doubts and concerns. I was scared to invest money into something I wasn’t sure would pay off, but it’s definitely something I love doing.

So I am thankful for every single order I get. Which is why I continue to try and improve in areas I’m not 💯% satisfied with.  Hopefully, it’s enough to make this journey last just a bit longer. 😀

Office Pens and Office Stuff….

Today I finished the office pen project I’ve been working on. It’s obvious because I’m at the end of the process when I finally get to blog about it. I started off with a vision of creating cute pens one can use for their office, home or business. I came up with these 3 sets and I’ve named them all.

#1: Joshua Tree

IMG_6652

#2: Pink Ladies

#3: Sandy Beach

IMG_6686

Making these was not hard at all. It’s fun for me to create all this cute stuff and it’s therapeutic for me. I find peace and happiness in creating all of my pieces. It honestly doesn’t feel like work for me, which is great!

What does feel like work is what happens after the fun….taking pictures, editing pictures, posting to Facebook, Instagram, and Etsy. Then writing these blogs LOL.

As long as I stick to the plan, eventually orders come in and then I have to recreate some of my art and print shipping labels and find the most economical way of shipping orders out in a safe way so orders don’t get damaged.

It’s literally all in that order. You now know my secret business strategies. =P It’s not always easy, it’s time consuming and tedious. But, it has to get done. And truth be told, I’m not complaining =D Here’s a few shots of pens that didn’t make it into a set:

IMG_6710IMG_6696IMG_6689IMG_6693Hope you all liked, thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to look through my blog. I really appreciate all of you!

Fancy Office Pens

Have you ever walked into an office and seen a flowerpot full of those cute pens with the fake flowers on them?  I’ve been wanting to create these flower pen sets to add to my Etsy shop.

This past week I took advantage of all the back to school sales and stocked up on pens. I used rhinestones and neutral colored paper which are both sold at Michael’s.

I used my Cameo Silhouette 3 to cut out the petals. After I assembled the flower onto the pen, I used washi tape instead of the green floral tape to wrap around the pen.

I still need to finalize all the details regarding how the sets will be sold and also take proper pictures. Hopefully, I can have this up by the end of next week.

Thanks for stopping by 💋❤️🙋🏽👩🏽‍💻

*Custom orders are always welcome.

Mermaid Highchair Banner…

IMG_6621

Mermaid themed birthday’s are in right now and I finally got around to making my version of a highchair banner. I grew up on Disney films such as The Little Mermaid and I knew that I wanted my mermaid to be the one and only Ariel for this project.

IMG_6629

I started off with the blue and gold pennants using my Cameo Silhouette 3 cutting machine. Then I added the red cardstock to make Ariel and the letters for my seashell.

IMG_6627

Everything on this banner was layered on. You can imagine how tedious it is to glue on those thin strips of gold glitter paper to the cardstock. I’m very careful not to leave any visible glue residue, I use a scraper to remove any glue that sticks out.

IMG_6597

I’m working on my photography skills, so I really have to practice my staging. But, I think with more practice I’ll be getting there. Pretty soon I will be able to have content just as good as the best of them hahaha. Watch out world!!

Minnie Mouse Highchair Banner

IMG_6548

Aren’t first birthdays just extra special?? Of course they are. First of all, a birthday bash is costly and the host enjoys it the least! Because of this, many people (including myself) only throw big birthday parties for milestone birthdays…first birthdays included.

IMG_6542

This banner is shorter than what I usually make because this is intended to be used on a highchair. It’s about 24” for the length of the pennants and has an additional 11” of ribbon on each side. All of the shapes were cutout using my Cameo Silhouette 3 machine.

IMG_6554

The number can be customized to all ages, and the ribbon can be made longer for a larger hanging area. The colors go beautifully together and I really like using glitter paper because it pops out in photo’s.

This item is now available on my Etsy shop:
