Going all out!

This past weekend I was thrilled to get a big order for babyshower decorations. This order included a floral backdrop, photo frame and photo props.

This babyshower had a garden/tea party theme which included light pinks and beige with some gold. Initially we were going to go with a curtain backdrop to go with the flowers.

Luckily, I had access to a roll of artificial grass and I wanted to go for the grass backdrop. It’s really easy to have all the visions and ideas πŸ’‘ but once you start putting it all together, it’s a lot of work.

I purchased two 4’x8′ foam boards from The Home Depot (I ended up just using 1). I also purchased heavy duty adhesive to glue the artificial grass onto the foam board. Please be aware that most of these adhesives recommend a 24hr period to “cure”. Luckily I started early and I placed my foam board, with the adhesive and artificial grass, in the sun which cut down the time it took to “cure”.

I used a frame made of PVC pipes and zip ties to hold the foam board. Also, I added bricks to the back legs of the frame for extra support. The curtains helped hide the piping and the edges of the foam board.

After that, it was pretty easy to attach the paper flowers. I just used floral pins and it held together really well.

I used some of the same colors for the photo props and the floral photo frame. They complimented the theme pretty well.

I’m not surprised at all that I challenged myself to do this type of backdrop. However, I’m definitely not going to start building a backdrop the day before. Lol. I literally worked all day from morning to night on this thing. Thank God it came together as well as it did. πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™‚

Managing my Workload….

These past two weeks have been amazing. I have officially experienced my first order overload. I have to be totally honest here, I freaked!! Lol. I literally lost track of my days, I thought my biggest order was due but turns out I still had a week to prepare. I think I had my first mini panic attack, no Lie!!

It’s not easy managing every aspect of your business. I had to find the time to catch up on my paperwork. I still need to organize receipts. I’m blessed to be this busy right now πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌ

For me, it was a bit scary to start a business. I had many doubts and concerns. I was scared to invest money into something I wasn’t sure would pay off, but it’s definitely something I love doing.

So I am thankful for every single order I get. Which is why I continue to try and improve in areas I’m not πŸ’―% satisfied with.  Hopefully, it’s enough to make this journey last just a bit longer. πŸ˜€

DIY Photo Frame…

For those of you that follow me on Instagram @Jazelle86, you saw the sneak peek of this project I started last week.

I started off with a poster board I bought at Michaels during their 2 for $3 sale. Then I used a blade to cut out the frame. Β I left 2” on each side and 6” on the bottom. After my frame was cut out, I used gold spray paint on both sides and let dry overnight.

I used my Cameo Silhouette 3 to cut out the banners, letters, vines and Minnie shape. Most of the flowers were made by hand. I even painted some paper to get the coral colored roses.

I started off gluing the letters to the banners and then I placed those on the poster board first with hot glue. Then I added the Minnie pinwheel followed by the flowers, vines and leaves.

The photo frame looks amazing with the flash because it stands out and shimmers in your photo. These pictures were all taken with an iPhone so it would closely resemble what it would look like in real life and not a professionally staged photo shoot.

Thank you for stopping by, catch ya next time. πŸ’‹
